amazon basis store stragegy

Starting Last Nov,21 to Now, I found that Amazon created the deal from Nov 21 to Dec 31st. Then, took 2 two-week break and Set up the deal again from Jan 16th until Now. First question How can they set up a whole month's Lighting deal? As a seller, we can only set up 1 week deal (which is longest one). amazon please give another store some chance so we can play the same rules not you play with better way lol

thanks

Hello @Seller_DGT1u9nkD6wcL

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand your concern about the different deal durations between Amazon Retail and third-party sellers.

To clarify:

Lightning Deals for third-party sellers are indeed typically limited to 7-day maximum duration as per our seller guidelines.

What you may be observing with longer-running deals could be one of several different promotional types:

  • Deal of the Day
  • Best Deals
  • Epic Deals
  • Seasonal Promotional Events

The extended deal periods you've noticed might appear to be one continuous Lightning Deal, but they're actually part of our broader promotional strategy that can include:

  • Multiple consecutive deals
  • Different deal types running back-to-back
  • Special seasonal promotional programs

We understand your frustration regarding perceived inequity. However, these different promotional structures exist to maintain a balanced marketplace while meeting customer expectations during key shopping periods.

If you're interested in exploring additional promotional opportunities for your products, I encourage you to:

  • Check your Seller Central "Deals" dashboard regularly
  • Look into other promotional tools like Coupons and Promotions
  • Plan ahead for major shopping events where extended deal opportunities may be available

We're constantly evaluating our deal structures to ensure a fair and competitive marketplace for all sellers.
