I hope this message finds you well....
I see so many people (?) with this in the beginning of their posts. Why? Does Amazon think I'm a jerk for not including it? Is this some weird etiquette of Amazon I'm not aware of.

You are right. And these messages continue in a smoth, fluent way WITHOUT CARACTER. That's because they are created by Chat GPT.
Such messages annoy me. No, don't use this beginning, It just shows that it has been written by someone with little English knowledge or little brain.

To that which Brigitte said I will add that there are many "support" groups (how to scam Amazon and buyers) with lots of templates to choose from.
Or just googling to find those templates.
That way you don't have to know how to express yourself.

Yep, AI generated.
If you read, you'll also notice that Amazon is almost invariably described as a "he" or "him". Other clues pop up to show that, at best, it's someone not fluent in English.
I often skip any posts that start with this. When I reply, it's usually with something like "Find someone fluent in English to help translate your question; the AI doesn't cut it".

it has something to do with attitude. if you hear/feel when alot of people are upset it comes out in the writing. the tone sets the action. you will get more done with honey then with lemons. its also apart of the script. if i feel attitude in a message im less likely to give the writer what they want. in school it was persuasive writing tips. the psychology of writing. try it , it works on alot of people it keeps people calm especially when you disagree with them. so i hope this helps and god bless you, may you have a great day. thank you for your time, and may the force be with you, i hope you find this statement satisfactory, i appreciate your honesty, even though you may disagree i hope you understand.

Like every Nigerian prince uses this opening in their scam email for 40 years now.
I hope this message finds you well,
I am writing you because my dear Uncle Javar has perished. He left me 500 million USD. I cannot claim it. I need your help in sending me 400 USD and we will deposit the trust in your name. You will then send this money back to me. I will let you keep 50 million dollars for your troubles.
Thanks,
Scam Artist

As stated above this is seen as a proper way to communicate by AI for some reason. It's not. You are in a passive tone from the start and you seem to want to set a tone in your favor.
People want flat facts, not fluff trash. Write your own messages, provide evidence and state your situation.
