Amazon Renewed Gating All Apple Product Starting Sept 17th?

We have been an approved seller of Apple products through the Amazon Renewed program for many years, back when Renewed was called Certified Refurbished. Our authorization to sell comes from our partnership with Verizon Wireless from whom we receive Apple product from directly. At 2am EST today we received the below email from Amazon which looks like it's saying all Apple product will be banned/restricted from the Renewed program starting September 17th. I have been scrambling to find more information, however I have not been very successful in finding that information. I spoke with seller support over the phone and they verified, however other industry partners have called their reps and have been told by their Amazon rep that they don't see anything about an Apple restriction. Has anyone else received this notification, and can a mod maybe provide links to more information on this matter? This is a huge change and I'm surprised it's so hard to find more info about it.

Here is the copy/paste of the Amazon notification:

Important information about your Amazon.com listings

Hello,

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we have implemented additional restrictions for Apple products.

Effective 2024-09-17, you will not be able to list the affected products, and your listings will be removed. This action does not impact your account health.

How can I reinstate my listings?

You are not approved to list Apple products and we are currently not accepting applications.

Were your listings removed as a result of an error?

If you believe your products have been misclassified within a certain category or sub-category that requires approval, please contact Selling Partner Support with evidence, such as product pictures, to support this claim. Amazon will review your claim and make a final determination that will ensure the best shopping experience for our customers.

What happens if I do not take action?

If no action is taken, the affected listings will not be available for sale in the Amazon store.

We're here to help

For more information about products that require approval, search for Categories and Products Requiring Approval in Seller Central, or see https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200333160.

I wouldn't take the fact that when anybody talks to a rep that it's gospel. I would take the notice you received more seriously than what a rep says.

Sounds like Apple is done having the brand affiliated with Amazon/selling on Amazon.

Not surprising. Amazon looks to be moving away from all used products. Including books. This platform is in the middle of a huge paradigm shift. Lots of things changing and we either swim with the current or be dragged under fighting it.

Even if this isn't amazon and is actually apples decision then you may still have issues. This right here makes it sound like you don't actually have apples approval. Do you have a contract with apple directly or just with Verizon?

Good Evening @Seller_7lHJxpNXp7zBS, It appears your permissions were restored and one of our Renewed representatives should be reaching out to you soon (if they haven't already).

@Seller_Mj6gNjWaceDpY & @Seller_62muHimE4rGBq, the team will notify sellers impacted on an individual level. If you have any further questions or have not been contacted by a Renewed representative yet but have received the email (that @Seller_7lHJxpNXp7zBS posted above), please let me know and I can reach out to the internally team on your behalf.

Have a great rest of the week.
