Buy shipping option missing
Hi,
I Just got my first FBM order for amazon.ca. My amazon canada product is listed for 53.00$ and a 4.99$ Shipping price.
I want to ship my first product out but i cannot see the option of “BUY SHIPPING”. I only see print packing slip, cancel order and confirm shipment.
I went to canada post to check the shipping rate of my package and they asked me to pay 12$ for shipping which turns my product into a loss as I am already paying 10$ to amazon their refferal and other fees.
I am a Canadian seller so why do i not have an option to buy shipping.

Hello and welcome to Amazon. There is no “buy shipping” to Canada. Consider yourself lucky though as the majority of shipments will cost more than $12 in our experience.

Your only options are those you make yourself. Amazon has not yet made any special agreements for FBM shipping with any carriers - only for FBA.
You can set up and account with a Canadian carrier. Canada Post is easy, but rates are pretty static unless you have sales history to justify more significant discounts. DHL, Fedex, Purolator, or UPS (and others) may be willing to have you a deal for the first few months, but that may be lost if you don’t have the volume.
If you have a Professional account, you can adjust what you charge for shipping, but customers are accustomed to free or low cost shipping, so you will need to set your price to include at least part of the shipping cost. You will also need to consider GST/HST and may need to consider PST depending on your location.
That referral fee does not cover shipping costs in any way. It is simply to address advertising and payment processing. Typically, it will cost your more than that to use other customer acquisition services and payment processing.
It is worth spending some time looking at what your competitors charge and compare with what your costs will be to determine if there is a opportunity to be profitable and competitive. If you can not be both, you should quit while you are not behind.

As others have said amazon.ca has never (unlike ebay) given sellers the option of buying shipping for FBM sales.
Make sure to get a free Canada Post Solutions for Small Business (SfSB) membership if you do not already have one (it’ll save $ when buying online labels).
Also, if you can wait to buy your shipping label until Tuesday this month, Canada Post allows you to ship one parcel for free ($0). You need a SfSB membership and must buy the label online.

Amazon is still working on getting buy shipping in the Amazon.ca market though our US competitor already enjoy this lovely service.
A third party shipping service is you (Shipvista.com) is your best better.
