Brand Registry Possible w/ Pending CIPO Trademark Registration?
Hey there!
Currently I have hijackers on my branded product listings in Canada. I have a US trademark and brand registry in the US, so no issues there. I'm considering applying for a CIPO trademark to get the same brand registered in Canada and kick these nasty counterfeit sellers off my listings.
I was told by a law firm that registration takes 24-36 months for approval. In that case, am I unable to get my brand registered until then, or is it possible to register my brand with a pending trademark registration?
Any help would be appreciated, I have fake Chinese sellers giving counterfeit products to customers every day. This results in Amazon's customers being tricked and unhappy, giving bad reviews on my product's listing. Not sure why Amazon still allows this, even without brand registry it's still my product. But I have to play by their rules :(

Yes you can apply for BR while you're CIPO trademark is pending.
