CUPW has given notice to Canada Post that they will go on strike Friday May 23.

What else/more would it take for Amazon to add Chit Chats as an integrated carrier?
Or, if it will never happen, I wish Amazon would publish this decision; so we know and would stop asking.

Hi,
Is it possible for Amazon to add Intelcom (Dragonfly) as an integrated carrier in Seller Central?
It’s widely used for deliveries in Canada, and integration would simplify tracking and shipping updates for many sellers.
Thanks in advance!

I'm bit confused on why you guys think that not using canada post will not effect you.
Canada Post is the only carrier that delivers everywhere in Canada, all these little small guys, pass parcels to Canada Post as the final leg for delivery.
Yes, if you ship with in Major Cities, great, you can use them. However, if you ship all across Canada, Canada Post is your best bet. Even Stallion Express, has way better pricing for Canada Post, as they have massive commercial account with discounted rates.
This is the same thing that happen last year with Canada Post Strike in Nov. Once Canada Post went on strike. UPS Fedex and Pourlator, wouldn't accept more than 1 parcel. Guess what happened if you used UPS Fedex or Porulator, if it had to go to the address that only Canada Post was doing last leg delivery. it was stuck at their warehouse.
Even Using FBA, as amazon recommends, UPS stopped doing pickups, last year, because they were overwhelm.
So this strike, if it happens, even though it is May/June, and the idea is, oh it wont affect as much, it will still create issue.
We have tested Stallion Express, as they provide wide range of shipping carriers. UPS Fedex and Pourolator didn't show up, they pushing UniUni, ICS, Intelcome (dragonfly) etc
So in the end, sellers will suffer again.

Prepare for the Canada Post strike???
How Amazon, when you will not let operate outside of your ridiculous policies?
There are plenty of options to ship efficiently to almost all addresses in Canada without using Canada Post.
But VTR makes that a non starter. Ship to customers using another carrier and risk being shut down because other carriers aren't "integrated".
You already have your A-Z policy in place so customers are protected in the event of an unproven delivery.
We went through this 6 months ago during the last strike. Amazon has changed nothing.
If you'd like to prepare for the strike, please deactivate the VTR so that we can ship our orders to customers while Canada Post is on strike. You can always turn it back on after the strike is over.

Is this why removal orders have been canceled in the past days?

As an FBM seller, I must say that only Canada Post ships to rural areas in Canada. I want to block orders from these areas during the strike, but the system does not allow me to exclude rural areas from the Shipping Template field.
Being prepared needs to be supported by Amazon. Please make a development that will block us from accepting orders from rural areas.
