close my account and open a new one on the same store name
Hello, I will be closing my account and opening a new one for the same store and brand name. The main reason is that my partner, who is the right owner of the account, has quit. Since I cannot transfer the account to my name, I need to close it and start fresh.
How long does it take for the store name to become available again after closing the old one?

Hopefully you are not using the same computing equipment and are using totally different URL.
You can expect Amazon will shut both accounts down as they are related to each other. With 9.7 Amazon sellers, Amazon is not really interested in sorting your problem out.

Hello @Seller_rDqGbOVFpn9U8,
Thank you for reaching out. As mentioned by @Seller_CW0P5hgbsiqWX, this can be an issue and Amazon may shut both of the accounts down. Please review the following resources:
Steps to take before closing your seller account
If you decide to permanently close your account, follow these steps:
- Fulfill any outstanding orders.
- Wait 90 days after your last sale to ensure the A-to-z Guarantee claims period is honored.
- Wait until you have a zero balance in your account (your next disbursement or charge date).
- Resolve all of your transactions with buyers, including issuing any necessary refunds.
- Confirm that your bank account information on file is up-to-date to receive a final payment.
- Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Cheers,
Micah
