Canada FBA prep and labelling services end July 1

Effective July 1, 2026, we’ll no longer offer prep and item labelling services for Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) shipments in the Canada store to improve operational efficiency and delivery times.

This change applies to all inventory that is sent to our Canada FBA service, including inventory that you send directly into FBA, inventory from Amazon SEND and Supply Chain Portal, when that inventory goes through FBA.

We initially introduced prep services to help protect products during the shipping process. Since then, we’ve seen a reduced need for our prep services. When you handle your own packaging, including prep and item labelling, we can provide faster and more efficient fulfilment centre operations.

Review your prep options and select a solution before July 1, 2026.

By that date, all products must be prepped and labelled before sending them to our facilities. This protects your inventory during shipping and ensures accurate processing.

For shipments created before July 1, we’ll continue to provide prep and item labelling services, even if inventory arrives after that date.

Shipments created after July 1 that arrive without proper prep and item labelling will still be processed and shipped, but won’t be eligible for reimbursement if items become damaged or untraceable. For details on our reimbursement policy, go to FBA inventory reimbursement policy.

To get started with prepping and labelling products yourself, go to Prepare your products for FBA shipping.

You can also work with your own preferred provider or leverage the third-party service providers that we’ve vetted for you. To review our vetted providers, go to FBA prep providers.

To help reduce your supply chain costs with less preparation and FBA discounts, use Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) for eligible products

For more information about prep services, go to FBA Prep Service.

what will happen when we label and Amazon's scanner doesn't work and we get the "Barcode cannot be scanned defect"? Will there still be a team to 'rescue' these 'defective' labels?

So, are we being led to believe that now that Amazon has forced us into using Amazon labels, that they are now forcing us to label and prep the items ourselves? I'm kind of perplexed here as it seems like a strategy to drive third party sellers out of business. I'd love to see what the actual reason behind it is. I for one will most likely just close my store. All this stuff from Amazon is just making the marketplace too difficult to utilize. Not worth the time anymore.

SO is Amazon gonna give us the means to convert all ASIN simultaneously or do we have to go back like we just did for the barcode debacle and relist every product one at a time without prep or labeling from Amazon?
