Product assurance – Selling children’s toys in Canada
Hi, Amazon keeps sending me emails regarding documentation I have to provide about some products I have been selling the last month. They are under Toys category:
“Test report from an ISO 17025-accredited testing laboratory confirming that each product was tested and meets these requirements, if applicable: Canada Toys Regulations (SOR/2011-17), Consumer Products Containing Lead Regulations (SOR/2018-83), Phthalates Regulations (SOR/2016-188), Surface Coating Materials Regulations (SOR/2016-193), Small Parts Warning, Age Grading and Applicable Warning Labels.”
Have you received this before? What did you do?
Thanks!

You’ll need to send in the test report to continue to sell. It is the law in canada for toys sold to have that report if it is designed for kids under 14 years of age.

I don’t understand that matter, I just buy this item from amazon to sell them through FBA , seller center , why I have to provide the documents? its strange

What if you source from Walmart or Target etc? Then would you have to contact the brand company directly to get these documents? Is there a database somewhere that has a list almost like an MSDS?
Thanks in advance

Hello @epiK_Mama,
From your post I understand that you have received a notification from Amazon to share some safety documents for toys and you want some details on the same.

I have received a communication asking me for a series of documents after selling a swimming pool for a 2-year-old boy that I had. I do not understand for me the box should say that, or how I am going to obtain all those documents, for me it is difficult to understand it, it is assumed that these pools before putting them on sale had to comply with those processes. I am only a reseller. I am frustrated with so much request.

I have received several requests for compliance documentation. As I had several weeks to respond I did not write down the ASINS in question immediately. I have now received an additional compliance documentation request but when I click on the “View Compliance Requirements” it lists only the most recent ASIN. Does this mean the previous ASINS are no longer an issue? How do I obtain information on the prior Compliance Documentation requests?
