YOW3 - Nepean, ON
hi everyone,
I sell in the handmade section of Amazon. I live in Ontario, Canada and ship to Amazon FBA via UPS.
1st shipment - 10 pieces(1 box) to YYZ4 - Brampton, ON shipped Nov 5, 2024 delivered, checked in, received and closed by Nov 7-8.
2nd shipment - 15 pieces(1 box) to YOW3 - Neapan, ON(Ottawa) shipped Nov 11, 2024, delivered Nov 14, nothing further - Seller Central says the trailer your shipment is on has reached the FC, if not available by Dec 3 you can request an investigation(or something along those lines)
3rd shipment - 18 pieces(1 box) to YOW3 - Nepean, ON(Ottawa) shipped Nov 14 , 2024, was not showing delivered, but showed checked in, received on Nov 17, 2024, then closed Nov 18, but shipping(UPS) didn’t show delivered until Nov 18, 2024.
Does Amazon scan just labels on the box or do they scan every item in the box. I am confused how and why my 3rd shipment which was sent 4 days after the 2nd one to the same FC was checked in, received and closed first and my second shipment is still sitting in the checked in stage. Is it lost? Why does it say the trailer it’s in has arrived. I don’t see anywhere in my seller central account that perhaps it was moved to another FC.
Not looking for responses that say you haven’t waited long enough for it to be checked in because my 3rd shipment has already made it.

YOW3 is parthetic. My 3 shipments are delivered since Oct 24, no check in status. Secondly it’s been almost one week since i submitted case for investigation, still no response and i am unable to sell goods in whole November. My ASIN lost its ranking, in deep trouble. All hard work gone to waste because of YOW3

I've also lost 4 shipments that were all sent to YOW3. Rushed to get them in for the holiday season and now they are all missing. Very upsetting considering the time of year and the amount of time wasted and money spent on inventory.

Hi @Seller_ojXXRC00ZseD9,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with shipping to Amazon's fulfillment centers (FCs). As a community manager, I understand the frustration and confusion you're experiencing with your second shipment's status. Rest assured, we're here to provide you with an empathetic and insightful response.
I want to acknowledge that shipping delays and discrepancies in shipment processing can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you have other shipments that have been processed smoothly. It's natural to feel concerned when one shipment seems to be lagging behind, particularly when it's not clear what the reason is.
Regarding your specific questions, it's important to note that Amazon's processes for receiving and scanning shipments can vary depending on the FC and the volume of shipments they're processing at any given time. While some FCs may scan every individual item in a shipment, others may only scan the shipping labels or a sample of items. This can lead to discrepancies in the reported status of your shipments, even when they were sent to the same FC.
It's also worth noting that shipments can sometimes be rerouted or transferred between FCs based on capacity and operational needs. This could explain why your second shipment's status hasn't updated, even though your third shipment to the same FC has been processed.
To address your specific concerns:
Amazon's scanning process: While the exact scanning process can vary, Amazon typically scans shipping labels and may also scan a sample of items within each shipment. This is done to verify the contents and ensure accurate inventory tracking.
Status of your second shipment: The message you received about the trailer arriving at the FC is an indication that your shipment has physically arrived at the facility, but it may still be in the queue for processing. The delay in updating the status could be due to a backlog or operational factors at the FC.
Investigating a potential issue: If your second shipment's status remains unchanged beyond the estimated date (December 3, 2024, in your case), you can indeed request an investigation through Seller Central. This will prompt Amazon to look into the matter and provide you with an update on the status of your shipment.
To request an investigation, you can follow these steps:
- Log in to your Seller Central account.
- Go to the "Inventory" tab and then select "Shipping Queue."
- Find the shipment in question and click on the "Request Investigation" button.
- Provide any relevant details or supporting documentation, and submit your request.
