Sudden Huge Increase in FBA Shipment Fees — Possible Glitch?

Is anyone else experiencing unusually high FBA shipment fees today?

My shipment costs suddenly increased to around 10–15 times higher than normal for shipments with very similar box sizes, weights, and quantities compared to my previous shipments.

believe there may be a partnered carrier pricing issue or inbound placement fee calculation error on Amazon’s side.

I already tried:

recreating the shipment,

checking box dimensions/weights,

and switching placement options.

Has anyone else experienced this today, and did it get resolved?

YES us too!!

today we're creating shipments and having same issue, is about 10x more. I thought it was an FBA pick pack fee issue where we are trying to change some fees, but we tried with another product and its still giving about 100$ per box.. we definitely cannot ship it out because its going to demolish our bottom line. We need this fixed as we have alot of shipments waiting to be shipped out! Anybody have experience with this?!?!

Yes currently it's about 2$ CAD per product. It's super super high. How do we fix it?

Same problem here, Amazon carriers (UPS) is showing prices anywhere between 500 to 1000% increase rates.

Opened multiple tickets but I am only getting cut and paste answers that do not address the problem. They do mention that as of May 6 Amazon added a 3.5% increase... but it obviously has nothing to do with these massive price increases

Facing the same issue. Usually takes a couple of days to rectify itself. Fingers crossed.

@Seller_vOwt7fDM1hFms Hello there!

The FBA inbound placement service fee applies to all standard and large bulky sized products and reflects the cost of distributing inventory to fulfillment centers close to customers. When you create a shipping plan, you can select different placement options: Minimal shipment splits (single location, higher fee) vs. Partial or Amazon-optimized shipment splits (multiple locations, reduced or no fee). A sudden spike could indicate a higher-cost placement option.

If you're using the Amazon Partnered Carrier program, keep in mind that costs can vary based on shipment details, assigned carrier, origin, and final destination. The billable weight is determined as the greater value between dimensional weight and physical weight — so even small changes in how dimensions are read can significantly impact costs.

You can reach out to support to investigate this further. If the issue persists after contacting support, please reply back to this thread with your Case ID. Thank you!
