Is XYZ, an international brand, considered GENERIC if XYZ is not registered in Amazon Brand registry?

XYZ, the international brand, must either be in brand registry or be approved by Amazon to list as the XYZ brand.

A great question! @Seller_vSOOwekJLU6c0 provided some great information but I wanted to jump in to provide a little more background and some resources.

A product is only considered 'Generic' when it is listed under the 'Generic' brand specifically. The brand name 'Generic' at Amazon refers to unbranded products that do not belong to any identifiable brand. An unbranded product does not have a distinctive name or logo. If you plan to list these products under a specific brand name/get approved for Brand Registry, I do recommend not listing under Generic in the meantime as the brand name attribute cannot be changed after creation.
