Opening up a new sellers account, got charged the checking fees (and reimbursed) and the monthly fees but still says invalid charge method on account

Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to the Amazon community, and I was setting up my business seller central account. It keeps on showing that I have an invalid charge method, but I checked that I got charged for the checking fees and the monthly fees as well.

I decided to give it some time to update or process, but it didn't really change. The only thing is that it is restricting my access to the account. This is probably a very entry-level question, but I really appreciate anyone's help on this. Would help a lot :)

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi there @Seller_qeYSQTrPr6cjN

Welcome to the community! Great to see you here. My name is CR and wanted to hop in here to see if I could provide you with some information here.

Is the card you initially set your account up with, a debit card? That is the likely culprit here, as the system will initially allow a debit card to be inputted to get started, but will then need an eligible credit card that accepts international charges.

Check the below information related to your credit card:

  • Is the credit card valid?
  • Is there a minimum charge amount?
  • Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
  • Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
  • Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
  • Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
  • Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?

Can you try that first and let me know if that works for you, or if you've already done that?

I'll hang here for your response.
