FBA credits your account for all or part of the Selling on Amazon referral fee and, where applicable, the variable closing fee for a returned item. Amazon does not reimburse you for applicable FBA fees.

Hi @Seller_5HrKIIXEikU19,

I understand the frustration and concern that comes with dealing with returned items, especially as a new seller.

Regarding your specific question, Dennis_mullin's response is correct. When an item is returned to Amazon's Fulfillment Centers (FBA), you will be credited for the Selling on Amazon referral fee and, if applicable, the variable closing fee. However, you will still be responsible for paying the FBA fees associated with that order, such as the fulfillment fee, which covers the cost of storing, picking, packing, and shipping the item.

It's important to note that these fees are charged to cover the operational costs involved in handling the item, even if it's ultimately returned. Amazon's FBA program aims to provide a seamless experience for customers, including hassle-free returns, which is why these fees are not reimbursed.

To help you better understand the fees associated with FBA orders and returns, I recommend reviewing the following help pages:

"FBA Fees"- This page provides a comprehensive overview of the different FBA fees, including fulfillment fees, and when they are charged.

"Returns and Reimbursements" This page explains how Amazon handles returns and reimbursements for FBA orders, including the fees that are credited back to your account.

Additionally, you can find more detailed information on FBA fees and returns in the "FBA Policies and Requirements" section of Seller Central.

I understand that dealing with returns and fees can be challenging, especially when you're just starting out. However, Amazon's FBA program is designed to make the selling process more efficient and convenient for both sellers and customers. With time and experience, you'll become more familiar with the fee structure and how to manage returns effectively.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to Amazon's Seller Support team or consult the Seller Central forums, where you can connect with other experienced sellers who may have valuable insights to share.
