Amazon New Reimbursement Policy - Experience so far

With Amazon's new reimbursement policy in place, I would like to ask what the experience of other sellers has been like?

We notice that we do not receive a reimbursement sufficient to cover the costs of the lost products. For example, items lost inbound, Amazon reimburses us for only the invoice amount USD converted into CAD. These items, many of them very heavy, also cost us:

  • Shipping (supplier to our HQ)
  • Shipping again (our HQ to Amazon)
  • Handling (i.e. receiving, counting, packing, reshipping)
  • Insurance on transportation
  • Customs brokerage
  • Duty (not new tariffs)
  • New tariffs
  • Label and prep + packing material

None of this is covered, and we are at a significant loss for each "reimbursement." Their previous policy was far more reasonable, in our estimation. Forget about your profit margin being recovered like it was previously.

We are bleeding money now as a result of their decision. It's been more reason for us to plan to decouple from Amazon's platform long term.

Requesting assistance from Amazon reps who can review case ID 17572580191 on a reimbursement revaluation rejection.
