Traditional Asian Medicine TCM is Exempt from FDA Final rule on Ephedrine and Ephedra Alkaloids - All Amazon has to do is Read the Rule instead of just first paragraph
AHS score at 8 because Amazon did not read the entire FDA Rule.
The FDA Rule Banning the use of Ephedrine and Ephedra Alkaloids is banned since 2004 EXCEPT for Traditional Asian Medicine. It seems Amazon has yet to read the entire RULE and has marked all my listing WITH or WITHOUT an ingredient that in its raw form has been falsely identified as containing Ephedra Alkaloids. NIH released a study analyzing the ingredient Amazon claims has Ephedra and no Alkaloids were found.
Any who.. Assuming this ingredient contains Alkaloids, It is a traditional Asian Medicine formula and exempt form the 2004 Ban.
50+ cases being created as Appeals are required at the ASIN level. a SAMPLE of the cases are at the bottom.
It is written in MULTIPLE locations on the FDA Final Rule

" This final rule does not affect the use of Ephedra preparations in traditional Asian medicine,".

That will work as an argument for YOUR website and possibly other sites.
Here, it is Amazon site, Amazon rules. They can make any decision they want based on THEIR policies and rules.
"It seems Amazon has yet to read the entire RULE"
They don't have to. Their house, their rules.
"It is written in MULTIPLE locations on the FDA Final Rule "
It can be written in stone on the steps of the US Supreme Court and it does NOT matter.

Yes, sick, isn't it.
All you have to do is call your product "Traditional Chinese Medicine" (which in most cases is neither "traditional" nor "medicine"), and suddenly you are exempt from the rules put in place to protect the public.
Thankfully Amazon is a bit more protective of their customers, although still too much snake-oil available here.

Actually, TCM was an invention of Mao, when he wanted to promise that everyone would get taken care of, but there weren't enough real doctors; so they created the "Barefoot Doctors" and touted stuff as "Traditional Chinese Medicine" to make people think that were getting treated. Mao, and the rest of the Elite, used real medicine.
This is without even going into the environmental harm caused by TCM.
But of course, if your product doesn't contain Ephedrine, then it should not be deactivated for having it.
