Change FBA returns from dispose to send to my house

I've heard that when an FBA item is returned, instead of it being sent to Amazon and they decide it should be disposed of instead of put back into my inventory, it can come to my house instead. I've been trying to figure out how to change my settings to avoid this, but I can't figure it out. I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Hi @Seller_1IHD686Toqu9W!

I can help you set up your preferences for returned FBA items. Looking at the help documentation here, you can choose to have items returned to your address instead of being disposed of.

Under the "Remove unsellable inventory automatically" section, you'll find the steps to set this up:

  1. Visit your Automated unfulfillable settings
  2. Choose "Return" as your removal option
  3. Pick a schedule that works for you (weekly or twice monthly)
  4. Enter your email address
  5. Provide your delivery address and phone number
  6. Click Update

Just keep in mind that per-item removal fees will apply. Also, if you don't set these preferences, Amazon will dispose of unfulfillable items at their earliest convenience - sometimes right after the returns evaluation.

You might also want to look into some value-recovery options like refurbishment or grade-and-resell, which could help you recover more value from returns. These options are listed right there in the same settings page.

Best regards,

Michael
