Candles Test Report ISO 17025

Hello Everyone, I am new Candle Based Brand on Amazon. I recently received the requirement for ISO 17025 test report to fulfil at amazon. however, amazon supplier labs DelTech & CSC refused to test the products as they don't offer candle testing. I did reach out to some candle testing labs but found out that they are in US and they are charging around $12,000USD .

Can anyone help if they have come across similar situation and how did they figured out the process. Also, Not sure, if US reports are accepted by amazon Canada.

Hii there, I am also being asked the same lab reports for my candles from Amazon. Its giving me such a hard time to find a lab in my region, they all want to send me overseas for testings which will cost a fortune. This is ridiculous, don’t know what to do. Please update if you found a way how to resolve this issue.

Dear @Seller_wPHHfZmfUu5zH,

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention regarding ISO 17025 testing requirements for candles. I understand this is a challenging situation, especially considering the high costs and limited testing options available.

Current Situation:

- Amazon requires ISO 17025 test reports for candle products

- Traditional Amazon-approved labs (DelTech & CSC) don't offer candle testing

- US-based testing is expensive ($12,000+)

- This is affecting multiple sellers in the candle category

Possible Solutions:

1. Testing Laboratory Options:

Consider reaching out to SGS or Intertek, which have facilities in multiple countries and are generally accepted by Amazon

Look for local ISO 17025 accredited laboratories that specifically mention candle testing capabilities

Contact your local candle manufacturing association for recommended testing facilities

2. Regarding US Reports for Amazon Canada:

- Generally, test reports from ISO 17025 accredited laboratories are accepted across Amazon marketplaces

- However, please ensure the testing standards meet Canadian regulations (CAN/CGSB-32.37-2020)

- Canadian Candle Standards: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/consumer-product-safety

Next Steps:

1. Submit a case to Seller Support requesting:

- Clarification on acceptable testing facilities

- Confirmation of US test report validity for Canadian marketplace

- Possible alternatives or temporary solutions while securing testing

2. Consider joining the Candle Makers Trade Association for additional resources and support

We understand this is a significant investment for your business. We're actively collecting seller feedback on this issue to better understand the impact on the candle seller community.

Please keep us updated on your progress, and don't hesitate to ask follow-up questions. We're here to support you through this process.
