Anyone have family members with accounts as well?

I have been asked by a lot of families like my brothers that they want to join as sellers but I have seen many posts of deactivation because of related account issues. They are planning on opening a separate account using their own information, so it will not be linked to mine except the surname.

Would this be a problem? Anyone have any family members also selling and have had no issues?

Also to add this is in another household

If they do NOT live in the same household (same wifi) there is no problem. And never ever the one may log in in this seller account using the wifi of the other.

As Brigitte says, as long as absolutely everything is different -- and that includes home address -- you should be okay.

However I will add the caution -- sorry for the shouting, but it is so very important -- NOBODY IN THE FAMILY SHOULD EVER BUY from another family member. Never place an order; never leave a product review.

I understand you have concerns about your family members' accounts becoming linked to your account. I would like to provide further insight into the applicable policies here in addition to some resources for you to utilize in this situation.

Amazon's Seller Code of Conduct and Multiple Accounts policy, all sellers are expected to only maintain a single selling account unless there is a legitimate business need to have more than one account. Such a need is considered legitimate when a seller has a separate brand or if they are recruited for participation in an Amazon program which does require the creation of a separate selling account. Even when permitted to have multiple accounts, each of the accounts must remain active and in good standing at all times. If any one of the accounts become deactivated, then all subsequent accounts will also being deactivated. While the seller works to address the target account, all others will remain so until its reactivation.

You will also want to be careful of sharing any information with anyone else. Any time personal information is shared between multiple accounts, they are automatically considered to be connected and fall subject to the terms of the Code of Conduct. This means if multiple accounts have the same business address, phone number, or e-mail address, then they will automatically be considered owned by the same person.

Both @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC and @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl have excellent points. If you are able to have a clear distinction between your accounts and family accounts, then there should be no issues. I do want to suggest not sharing internet or even a device as well, as this could potentially cause issues for this policy as well.

All the best,

Stevie

In addition to everything else said already, be 100% positive that ALL of you source properly and have an LOA from the brands before selling anything!

Amazon is finally losing patience with amateur sellers that can't/won't study Seller U and follow basic rules.

To add to what the others have said, you may want to make sure your family members make a point of selling different products than you do and perhaps it is better if you are not both selling in the same niche sort of market (like not selling the same/similar kinds of goods.) Since it is legal to have multiple Amazon accounts as long as they are for clearly separate lines of business,

The most important thing though, is make sure your family members follow the rules and don't get themselves suspended because if they are suspended and for some reason amazon decides they think you are actually connected, then your account gets suspended too until you can prove to amazon that you are in no way connected (which could get difficult if you wind up checking your amazon accounts from the same wifi or ever use each others computers to log in or tend to use your buyer account to ship each other gifts from amazon etc.

Honestly it may increase the likelihood of your accounts being suspended by bots but all you gotta do is show that there are two separate owners of the accounts and you'll b reinstated.

My brother lives in an entirely different house about 10 minutes from me, but I've logged in MANY times from the wifi at their house checking orders (never on any of their devices, always my own) and responding to customers and I had to tell him that there is NO WAY currently for him to become a seller on here because I've logged in too many times over the last 5 years at their house. It would trigger a "related accounts ban". My account is perfectly healthy, and I want to keep it that way. No "related account" stuff for me thanks. It really does suck because he has a legit business that does completely different stuff from what I do, and we don't share any banking info business info, phones (we don't even use the same company for our phones), or anything else other than a last name and me logging in on my own device over at their house to manage buyers. But basically he can NEVER be an Amazon seller because they are so strict with the rules, and I don't want to have to fight for months to get my account back just because he signed up. Amazon is one of my main selling channels and I cannot risk my account - and thankfully he's smart enough to understand. It's just hard when you have an entrepreneurial family like I do. If I had known he was going to start his own business years ago, I'd of never logged in at their house, but its so hard when you literally have to be on the wifi to even make a phone call there because they are so rural.
