I used the chat the first time just 2 days ago, and the experience was outstanding. I was used to receive canned replies, useless and way off the actual topic. But the person who worked with me in the chat to resolve an issue that was nobody else able to resolve in the last few years (Amazon continuously ignoring my updates to item details) was knowledgeable, listened to my problem, and did not give up until they figured it out and resolved it.
Yes, we need to chat with experienced and friendly support staff.
