Amazon Canada - Search Algorithm Change? Has Anyone Else Noticed a Shift in Search Position?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else noticed a change in their search position on Amazon Canada recently?

I’m seeing some products move up or down in search results without any major changes to listing content, pricing, or performance. It feels like something may have shifted in the algorithm, but I’m not sure whether this is isolated or more widespread.

Are others noticing:

ranking drops or jumps

changes in keyword performance

different products showing up higher than usual

Curious to hear whether this is happening across multiple categories or if anyone has identified a specific cause.

Thanks.

Yes

A10 algorth has been applied, another Scheme of Amazon, though they deny such claim, yet one of their support team and internal member confirmed it.

Thank you for starting this discussion, @Seller_HY11pBXR5oxuG!

While I don't have direct insights into why this change occurred, here are some common factors that can influence where your products appear in search results, along with steps you can take to improve visibility:

  • Review your Business Reports: Check your Detail Page Sales and Traffic reports for any changes in sessions, page views, or conversion rates
  • Optimize your listings: Ensure your titles, bullet points, descriptions, and backend search terms are fully optimized with relevant keywords
  • Refine your keyword strategy: Include synonyms, spelling variations, and terms customers actually use. Avoid repeating words already in your title and stay under the 250-byte limit for backend search terms
  • Verify listing status: Search for your ASINs directly on Amazon.ca to confirm they're appearing in results with an active "Add to Cart" button
  • Consider advertising: Sponsored Products can help maintain visibility during periods of organic ranking fluctuation

If you believe there may be an error with your listing or would like direct assistance, I'd recommend opening a case with Seller Support so they can take a closer look.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
