Can I deliver a customer order myself?

I have an order from a customer literally down the street from me. Can I hand deliver it myself or do I still need to go through a postal service?

Customer is expecting a postal service. Customer doesn't know you are just down the street. You would also have no way to mark it as delivered.

You are going to get conflicting responses, to this question. Here's mine:

Of course you can hand-deliver it. I do it all the time -- without incident. In fact, I tend to get positive feedback (as opposed to no feedback) for the 'personal service'. Mind you, unless I advertised it as "free shipping", I would offer the shipping fees back. Believe it or not, most would refuse it.

If you chose my option, just have the customer sign some kind of 'received confirmation'. The only thing I won't do, in this scenario, is leave it at the door, or in a mailbox. And I won't leave it, unless an adult is home.

Many moons ago, when I was new, I called Seller support (ahhh, the good old days when you could get SS), I asked this very question, and was told -- Amazon would never say no to offering exceptional service.

Go with your gut....

Good luck.

Yes you can, I just did it by letting my customer know via the contact information provided (email or phone number) that it can be delivered the same evening instead of arranging a courier or canadapost to deliver on the earliest business day. Customer have no issues with that. You might want to be aware that if a customer lives in a condo or apartment, hand delivery might be more difficult.
