Bubble wrapping AFTER products in FBA warehouses

I think I made a mistake and need some help fixing it. I created my shipment and specified no prep needed by amazon. A few thousand units went into FBA about two months ago and I have been making my first sales of my new brand. The product is a three pack of of soap cartons that are held together in a sleeve.

The problem is that Amazon keeps sending them out in bags and they are arriving to the customer crushed and the cartons are popped out of the sleeve. I think that if I could get amazon to apply the bubble wrap to the product it would arrive in better shape to the customer but it seems like its too late for me to ask them to do it because I would have had to specify this when the shipment was created two months ago.

the only option I can find is to specify "who preps" and select "amazon", but it won't allow me to select any specific prep option (such as bubble wrap) at this point.

My premium product arriving in this condition looks terrible for my brand and I'm really desperate to fix this. And yes I know now that I should've probably done this myself before even sending in to amazon. It's my first business and it's a lesson learned. Can anyone help me figure out how to get these things bubble wrapped PLEASE?

"Can anyone help me figure out how to get these things bubble wrapped PLEASE?"

Recall everything and do the wrapping yourself.

As you said -- lesson learned. For any other rookies out there, follow this --

Prepping packages

Prep them like you want the buyer to receive them in one piece --

Whatever you need to do so they are protected from being thrown off the Empire State Building AND being run over by a forklift.

In addition, Amazon has gone 'minimalist' in packaging for shipment. My last several shipments came in plastic bags. One was the package of socks (as sold in stores) with just the shipping label stuck on it.

At least the mail man didn't laugh at my choices. I'm considering buying some thongs next time just to get a chuckle out of him.

Ï don't think Amazon will do this for you, but you can always create a case in seller central and ask seller support.

On your place I would immediately deactivate (NOT delete!) the listing, create a removal order, send back to you or a prep center and improve the packaging. Of course you will pay more FBA fees afterwards because the product will be more voluminous and heavier. If you don't close your listing, bad ratings will arrive soon and destroy your listing.

Sorry, I can't hold back to express my astonishment:

That is a new listing with zero ratings and reviews and you send a few thousands? Do you know what storage fees you will pay? Also from this point of view it's the best to create a removal order hoping that Amazon will return the units before Christmas.

Hi @Seller_rWHQRi48VcyyN,

Dominic from Amazon here, happy to try to help with this. I would recommend prepping the products yourself moving forward if the bubble wrapping Amazon is providing is not meeting expectations.

Best,

Dominic

" A few thousand units went into FBA about two months ago and I have been making my first sales of my new brand."

Your bigger issue that I don;t see addressed yet is when you do a recall you need to hope that Amazon didn't do the typical Amazon move and spread those few thousand items across the US in about 50 warehouses!

If they did, they will have to recover them from all those locations to ship to you. I have seen posts where they returned from every location individually as well as posts indicating that Amazon consolidated everything back to ONE warehouse and sent a large box/boxes to the seller.

I refuse to do FBA so I'm not sure how badly you will get dinged in fees on this one.

It's Amazon so don't expect to have any profit after you are done.
