Return Period

It's been 25 days since we approved the return request of a customer and issued her with a valid prepaid label. She still has not shipped the item back. We have messaged her 3 times to urge her to return the item, asking if she was having any problems with shipping as well but she never replied. It becomes extremely hard for us to re-sell items that have been used for a period of time, which is why there is a 30-day return period in the first place. I am worried that this buyer will attempt to return the item after 30 days, and when we inform her that the item is no longer eligible for reimbursement she'll open an a-z claim and get her way as buyers always do. You may call my concern premature since there's still 5 days left but based on what I've seen, I do not think it's baseless at all. I imagine lots of sellers have been in similar situations, and I'm curious as to what Amazon does in such scenarios.

If the buyer is a scammer, there is nothing you can do.

I suggest stop messaging them. Very very often, they are angling for a refund without return. When they see they have to use the label and return it, they just let it go. I currently have one sitting at 47 days since the label was created for them to return the item. If you leave them alone, maybe they will forget about it. If you keep messaging, you could get on the Amazon radar for "bothering" the buyer unnecessarily.

For electronics, Amazon's policy generally allows returns if the item is postmarked within 30 days of the delivery date of the original shipment to the buyer. You can find more detailed information on return policies for your product at sellercentral.amazon.ca/learn/

Or maybe the buyer just changed his/her mind about the return. I don't recall when Amazon closes the Return Request, but it doesn't stay there indefinitely.

IF you've received it 'used' then deduct funds accordingly, with an explanation.

(Just noticing the dates....have you received it back??)
