New Seller. I am restriced in every brand? Is that normal?

I can't find a single brand I can sell other than a couple of private label brands that are already selling on the lising. How do I get started selling if I am restricted in every brand?

Hello @Seller_ibnO3ggEqnQ4X

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

I understand how frustrating brand restrictions can be when you're just starting out. Let me share some helpful strategies that many successful sellers have used:

Start with wholesale/private label products that don't have brand restrictions. This is actually a common path for new sellers.

Consider these categories, which typically have fewer restrictions:

  • Home & Kitchen
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Pet Supplies
  • Sports & Outdoors

Build your seller metrics by starting small. Good performance can help you qualify for brand approval later.

Apply for brand approvals once you have:

  • An active seller account
  • Good metrics
  • Invoices from authorized distributors (for wholesale)

Pro tip: Use your Seller Central account to regularly check which brands you're eligible to sell. The restrictions do change over time.

Remember, many top sellers started exactly where you are. Focus on building a solid foundation with unrestricted products first, and you can expand to restricted brands as you grow your business.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Start with Ungated products and then Gated products but for Gated products you need the invoice to approved
