Need to open a new Seller Central account for a new brand and I need some advice

Me and my business partner have had this account for 3 years now selling various products under a brand name that encompasses a variety of industries.

But now we want to add a private label business model for a specific industry but our Brand name doesn't match well with it. So we need to open a second SC account to accommodate this new brand name.

So here's the situation and question.

Our current SC account is under my business partner's name under a 2 member LLC. I am just an admin on this account with all permissions. So would it be easier and take less time to just create the new account under my name and my personal information only? Then later on, tell Amazon the situation and switch that new account to the 2 member LLC? Or should we go through the process of where my business partner has to contact Amazon and explain why we need a second SC account? Mind you, I'm running the Amazon business and my partner is pretty much 'hands off'.

Go through the effort to get a business license for a Business using that Brand. It will save you immense headaches in the future.

Same thing with a bank account and a credit card for the business.

Amazon no longer requires permission to open a second or later account, but they do have limitations placed on what you can do with multiple linnked accounts. For instance, you may not list the same product on more then one of them. Additional limitations apply and I recommend looking this up in seller help or seller university.

you can open a second account for that brand and no need to worry about overlapping data, You cannot sell the same type of product in both accounts, Amazon wants to see a logical reason why you need a separate account. Just changing or adding a brand name is not enough
