UPC vs FNSKU for Inventory Checkin

Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of using a UPC vs a FNSKU for checking a private label item into Amazon FBA? - I thought this was okay but just want to make sure prior to sending in shipment. The product would listed under a Brand Registered account.

Thanks so much! Wishing everyone well on their Amazon journey.

I think you're asking if it's ok to just have the UPC and not an FNSKU on the product.

Amazon needs to know what to expect. If you use the UPC then your products will be co-mingled with others of the same ASIN. Yes, I know you said that this is a private label item with Brand Registry. But if another seller gets on the ASIN and also sends their product to FBA, then there could be a problem -- because the FC will just pick one out of the "pile" to ship to the buyer and it may not be one that you sent in. For this reason, many seasoned sellers highly recommend always using FNSKUs.
