Shipping DDP or DDU (Tariffs)

Hello seller community,

Wondering what other sellers thoughts are regarding shipping with the new tariff fees included or owing.

We ship FBM from Canada and when we declare our packages through customs, anything that was manufactured in China (even though we are shipping from Canada) gets caught in the tariffs.

Our options are to either ship DDP, with us paying the tariff, or DDU, with the package arriving and the customer having to pay the tariff in order to receive the package.

DDP would require us to increase our prices drastically

DDU would not, but risk having shipments rejected by customers who are not willing to pay the tariff and returned to us, as well as potentially negative feedback because of this.

I believe Amazon shows a message beside our listings on Amazon.com saying that we ship from Canada and duties and import feeds may apply, but people don't read things like that and many will still be caught unawares.

Appreciate any insight or suggestions as we determine how we move forward. Fortunately, the vast majority of our books are printed in Canada or the US so don't (currently) require any attention. But we ran in to our first one today where the book was printed in China and the cost to ship it to the US was very high.

Thanks!
