Account Alchemy: Maintaining Health and Evading Suspension Woes - Intro

Hello sellers!

Welcome to the first post in our new "Account Alchemy" series! Over the coming weeks, we'll be diving deep into the strategies and best practices that help you maintain a healthy selling account and avoid the stress of suspensions. Think of this series as your comprehensive guide to transforming potential account issues into opportunities for growth and improvement.

Today, we're starting with the foundation: your Account Health Dashboard.

Why Your Account Health Dashboard Matters

Your Account Health dashboard is your early warning system and your best friend when it comes to maintaining a thriving Amazon business. This centralized hub gives you real-time visibility into your account's performance and flags potential policy violations before they escalate into serious problems.

The impact on your business: Proactively monitoring your Account Health dashboard helps you catch issues early, maintain your selling privileges, protect your revenue stream, and avoid the costly disruption of account suspensions. Sellers who regularly check their dashboard are better positioned to address concerns quickly and maintain strong performance metrics.

What You'll Find in Your Account Health Dashboard

Your Account Health dashboard provides a comprehensive view of your account status, including:

Product Policy Compliance: Alerts about listings that may violate Amazon's policies, including restricted products, authenticity concerns, or listing quality issues.

Shipping Performance: Metrics on your delivery times, valid tracking rates, and on-time shipment rates that directly impact customer satisfaction.

Customer Service Performance: Your response times, customer feedback, and how well you're meeting buyer expectations.

Policy Compliance: Notifications about any violations of Amazon's selling policies, from intellectual property concerns to prohibited seller activities.

The dashboard uses a color-coded system to help you quickly identify areas needing attention - making it easy to prioritize your actions and address the most critical issues first.

Your Action Plan

Make checking your Account Health dashboard part of your daily routine. Here's why this matters: many policy violations have time-sensitive resolution windows, and early action can mean the difference between a quick fix and a lengthy appeal process.

When you spot an issue:

  1. Review the details carefully - Understand exactly what Amazon is flagging and why
  2. Take immediate action - Address the concern as quickly as possible
  3. Document your response - Keep records of the steps you've taken to resolve issues
  4. Submit required information promptly - Use the proper channels to provide Amazon with any requested documentation

Essential Resources

Bookmark these critical resources for managing your account health:

  • Account Health FAQ - Your comprehensive guide to understanding account health metrics and requirements
  • How to Appeal - Step-by-step guidance if you need to appeal an account decision
  • Submit Information - The proper channel for providing documentation to Amazon

Coming Up Next in the Series

In our next post, we'll dive deeper into understanding specific policy violations, how to interpret them, and proven strategies for resolving common issues quickly. We'll also outline specific category/product restrictions/violations.

Your turn: How often do you check your Account Health dashboard? Have you caught an issue early that saved you from bigger problems down the road? Share your experiences and tips with the community below - your insights could help a fellow seller avoid a costly mistake!

What specific account health topics would you like us to cover in this series? Let us know in the comments!

Given the septic wound that is AtoZ claims and the subsequent impact on defect rates, I don't think you can have a good-faith conversation with us about account health.

Furthermore, the allowance we have for "our" defect rates relative to Amazon-shipped products makes this conversation painful. Anecdotally, my defect rate for products that originate from Amazon is about 10%. I don't know how Amazon expects us to maintain 2%. That's straight to the pitchforks for me.

How can we even have this conversation if Account Health is broken, and always has been?

We are constantly flagged by automated violations that are not actually violations. Our Account health is constantly destroyed due to this.

It would appear as if amazon doesn't know how broken this is
