Feedback removal request: Are we not supposed to include customer-provided phone numbers with their address on the package? I thought Amazon expected this!

For the first time ever, I’ve received low feedback from a buyer because I included his apparently (but impossible for me to know) unlisted phone number on the mailing label, which he states is beneficial to identity thieves. The buyer included this number with his address, and it was visible to me in the order details at the time (deleted since by Amazon).

As a FBM seller, I’ve always been under the impression that when a phone number IS PROVIDED, we’re supposed to include it on the envelope (I sell movies, shipped in bubble envelopes) because it is useful if couriers need to contact them for some reason or to facilitate delivery (say, in an apartment or office building), and also increases the possibility of the buyer receiving their item from a neighbour or other unintended recipient if it’s delivered to the wrong address.

To me, it’s is an absolute necessity.

Is it not also Amazon’s policy, and their expectation of sellers?

In fact, in my own buyer experience, I’ve received countless Marketplace parcels (from FBM sellers, just like me) with hand-written addresses that include my phone number because I willingly include it with my address details on my buyer account, and I’m grateful every time I see it on a parcel. If I didn’t want that extra layer of certainty, I suppose I wouldn’t include it, but as I recall that’s not even an option, is it?

This particular buyer’s number was obviously supplied by him as I would have no other way of knowing it, and I certainly would have no idea that it was unlisted.

If we are not supposed to write the phone number on the envelope, why would it be visible to us in the order details?

If phone numbers are indeed optional or not meant to be written with the address at all, I guess I’d consider leaving them off all future orders, but doing so would just seem wrong to me.

And if a buyer’s phone number is actually unlisted, why would they include it in the first place, at all?

Thoughts?

Also, I’ve only ever used the feedback removal link that we can send to buyers once in 15 years of selling, and that was many years ago. How do I find that now so I can at least attempt to change his mind (especially after he claims in his feedback that he had no way to contact me because MY phone number isn’t on the return address, but made no attempt to contact me through Amazon)

Better yet, if . . .

@JiAlex_Amazon

@Ricardo_Amazon

@Lucre_Amzn

@Josh_Amazon

@Jurgen_Amazon

@Sunnie_Amazon

@Daryl_Amazon

@Christine_Amazon

@Jessica_Amazon_

@Ka_Amazon

. . . could simply look at my feedback history and see that this buyer’s feedback (it’s the most recent as I write this) unfairly penalizes me for something I thought selllers were required to do, perhaps they can simply remove it?

Thanks for any assistance.
