Please Help Competitive price

Hi,

One of our ASIN has just lost BuyBox because of Amazon competitive price.

Let me clarify a few points:

We are the manufacturer of that products

We are the only seller

We know all retailers since we are selling to them and can’t find any of them at this $31.98

img

price

Normal price on Amazon $39.99 (competitive price claimed by amazon at $31.98)

It has impacted our sales.

Any advise on how to address this? and possibly get our BuyBox back.

This problem stems from Amazon's, "One Size Fits All" when training Bots to review pricing. one Size for every product doesn't work. These are the problems we run across everyday:

1. Being the only seller of the product and having the listing removed because there is no price to compare it to.

This is generally fixed by going to the Notification page and clicking EDIT. We add a low price and high price in the empty boxed, and my listing price is accepted.

2. Listing a product that retails for $24.95 for $24,95, when there are 2 or more sellers asking $100.00+.

We have to keep raising our offering price until it gets really close to the $100 mark. it is evident that the other sellers are price gouging buyers, but Amazon seems to think it is ok, and wants me to gouge the buyers also.

3. Listing a new product when there are only sellers offering the item USED.

Product retails for $29.99. There are 10 used available starting ar $7.47, and NO available in the new category. I list my new product for $24.95. the next day I get a notification the price is too high, and I can only list it for a Maximum of $7.49.

Amazon'a algorithm can't differentiate between USED and NEW pricing. The solition is, Don't use the Amazon site for the sale.

We are having the same exact issue. We are the manufacturer and brand owner and Amazon's algorithm has incorrectly linked ASIN's competitive price. We have opened and escalated numerous cases to no avail.

It has been incredibly frustrating because we have submitted screenshots showing that they are trying to compare us to a different configuration - each with a unique UPC.

Amazon, when are you going to fix this issue for brand owners and manufacturers?

There is nothing you can do because in the near past or currently, the product was sold at a lower price.

There is a featured offer there for $27.98, what's up with that?

You can stop somehow the $27.98 offer and then wait a few months until 39.99 will be considered a normal price.

IN the meantime make sure your products is not found below 39.99 on other websites.

Earth to @Michelle_Amazon … please help. Many sellers are dealing with this problem and it seems you have resolved this issue before.

This is an Amazon bot related problem and the engineers who caused this know not what they do.

Its called price fixing and technically its illegal - except Amazon seems to get away with it.

If you are "brand registered" inform Amazon that your Manufacturer's Authorize Price (MAP) is $39.99 and instruct Amazon to code your listing accordingly. Send a copy to Amazon's legal department in Seattle (better done by your attorney but you can do it yourself).

Send by Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested. By the time you received the green card back from the Post Office Amazon should have corrected its F-U. If not you may want to file an arbitration case.

When you say you are the manufacturer, is your item unique and patented, or are you having it private labelled, and there are other products with the same size and function, but with a different UPC? Because say you sell a private labelled plastic disposable tablecloth that is 80"x40" for $9.99. If amazon sees the same size, material, and color with a different UPC for $4.99 they will use that to determine the fair price of your item. If your item is unique, and not like an iPhone charger, or a fly swatter, then you should be able to get help from Seller Support.

Is the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission currently litigating a claim with Amazon for doing an unlawful 'price fixing' with 3rd Party Seller listings? I read about it in a well known newspaper today, and it reported that Amazon has not responded to the lawsuit with a solution. Therefore, the lawsuit moves forward. We'll see if any of it changes Amazon's practice of controlling prices on the AMZ platform.
