Amazon not charging customers tax.

Hi

I recently discovered that for some of the taxable items, Amazon is not collecting sales tax. All my tax settings are at default currently.

Thanks

That's probably the issue. Put in your tax numbers and then Amazon can collect tax on your behalf.

As Jpart mentioned you need to enter your GST and PST numbers if applicable on your account. Amazon will collect GST and HST for you. Then you need to remit that to the CRA.

Also one thing to remember is even though you were not collecting sales tax on certain items you should have been charging it so the CRA will still require you to remit sales tax on those sales. Hopefully you caught it fairly quickly.
