Private Label Product - Manufacturer Info

Hi, when listing a private labelled product, who do you put in as the manufacturer? Is it the private label seller, or the actual manufacturer?

Thanks.

Hello @Seller_6IRZsY1zzHQ1P,

When listing a private label product on Amazon, you should list your company (the private label brand owner) as the manufacturer, not the factory or original manufacturer that produces the items. Here's why:

  1. You are legally responsible for the product and its brand
  2. You own the brand/trademark
  3. You are the entity dealing directly with Amazon and customers

Important note: Make sure your brand name matches exactly what's registered in Amazon Brand Registry (if you're registered) and what appears on your product packaging/labels.

Remember to also:

  • Use your brand name consistently across all listings
  • Include your company's contact information in the required fields
  • Ensure all product details comply with Amazon's listing policies

If you're new to private labeling, it's worth checking Amazon's Private Label requirements in Seller Central to ensure full compliance with their policies.

Hope this helps clarify the manufacturer field requirements for your private label products!
