Charge method not working
In the past few months I have not been able to use my Spanish Amazon account for reason of Amazon being unable to verify my VISA credit card as charge method. I have renewed or re-entered the card details numerous times and just as many times raised complaints at the customer support and generally get the same rhetoric like:
- The number entered must match the number on your credit card.
- The billing address must match the one on your credit card statement.
- The CVV code you entered must match the one on your credit card.
- The credit card must be valid for at least 6 months when you add it.
- The name of the cardholder you entered must match the name of the cardholder that appears on your credit card (in Latin alphabet).
- The card cannot be a gift, virtual or prepaid card.
- The card must allow charges in the currency of the Amazon stores you want to add it to.
- The card must have an adequate credit limit to pay the fee.
- If your financial institution asks you to enter a unique security code, the code must match the one sent to the cardholder via SMS, email or form.
I can confirm that all of the above has been followed when entering my Visa details and still it is rejected again and again. Having been trough trouble with Amazon, I realise it can be a silly as a dot or a comma in the home address (obviously the card details and CVV code are similar to the ones printed on the card). NO one in the Amazon team is in the least helpful and bless this great company, I have decided to stop selling through all other Amazon Marketplaces. The lack of the support and the stupidity of the responses is mindblowing and I don't need Amazon to be successful.
Why then this post? I still have a little amount in my Spanish account which Amazon should pay out to me. But guess what, even though my bank details are known, the funds are being hostaged up and until this charge method issue is solved. Is this legal???
Anyone with a similar experience and tips how to get out of this vicious circle?
