Some newly listed books not appearing in inventory
In the past two weeks, about 1 in 10 book listings I create never appear in my inventory. I am creating the listings manually, one at a time. For the books that never showed up, I have tried to list them again, in case I forgot to press the final button or something the first time. No luck. When I search for these books in my inventory, I have the filter set to "All".
In addition to it being a pain, I'm a little concerned that these phantom listings I created will suddenly appear in my inventory at some point in the future, long after I have sold the books on a different platform.
Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

On further searching in the forums, I see that this is a systemic problem.

Yep; I've had about 4-5 books with the same problem (possibly a few more; I'm trying to get in the habit of waiting to put them on the shelf until I verify, but sometimes don't double check everything).
No solution I've found; I'm just putting them aside, and will try listing them again in a few weeks.

Yes, I list individually & sometimes they just don't go into inventory. I am listing on 4 other book sites, so I just forget it & move on. It's not good to be too dependent on Amazon.

Sometimes - Searching in manage Inventory has problem
Try to get out Manage Inventory and select Manage Inventory again and try to use Search feature to see what happens ??

This has happened to me recently, with two different books. One was added to an existing page and one was created from scratch. Both went into a black hole.
But, after searching a bit (I figured they had to be somewhere), I found them under "Incomplete Listings," accompanied by that enigmatic "You are receiving this error as you may be adding Offer-Listing(s) or editing a SKU not present in your catalog or one that’s been deleted...yada yada yada" message that a couple other sellers have mentioned here. The suggested "Edit draft" on that page takes me in circles.
A mod never came forward to provide an explanation or to offer any help with that, and I have no idea what it means. But since Amazon is a totally fluid site, rather than try to "translate" that message, I think I'll just sit on the books for a while and then try them again one day (as @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw noted).
Have you looked under "Incomplete Listings" for yours?

No. At least not one detectable by normal human beings. (as much as any of us qualify as "normal") ;-)

None of the solutions are working for me. I see some sellers are having listings appear in their inventory that they never created. Maybe some of our listings are going to another seller. I have tried waiting a few weeks and listing in the next shipment. Doesn't help.

Widespread issue - we have about 1400 books in this current condition. Sadly I truly think Amazon is completely unaware of the issue. Seller support doesn't have a culture to actually recognize any ongoing issues. They are solely there to gaslight users and explain how us sellers are wrong in all occasions. A lot of the time they are right - but when there actually is a systemic error it is so far beyond their capabilities they don't even know how to communicate upstream to eventually find resolution. That's where the topic is now - seller support death land. Maybe a moderator like @Glenn_Amazonor someone from their team will catch wind of the growing number of threads and complaints about the same issue. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that either. While I'd like to think the mods culture is more open to seeing an ongoing issue the reality is that the whole company relies far too much on the notion that everything works the first time and should not be questioned.
Its a narcissistic and toxic mentality to have especially for customer service.

This is happening to us today. It might have happened prior and we didn't realize. We've tried listing about 6 different titles and only 3 are showing up in our inventory.
I am getting emails that say a listing was created, but not showing up in inventory.
It would be helpful if a MOD would hop on.

Yes, we are long time booksellers here and I've had 2 books this week never make it into inventory after being listed twice. I waited 48 hours as well. Add this to a long list of things that make selling on Amazon a poor experience.
