Product Policy Compliance Bot Has Flagged Batteries for Hearing Aids as a Class II Medical Device

Hello

The Product Policy Compliance Bot has flagged ASIN B004UJVPHY (Duracell - Hearing Aid Batteries Size 312 (brown) - long lasting battery with EasyTab for ease of installation - 8 count) as a Class II Medical Device and is asking for a Health Canada certificate. It is obvious from the title, the description and the pictures that these are just batteries that power hearing aid devices, but not hearing aids themselves.

Even after flagging this with the Product Policy Compliance team (Case ID 17300547011), they are insisting this is a Class II Medical Device.

Can a moderator please flag this and get this resolved?

Thanks

Thank you for the information provided regarding the recent removal of your listing. I understand the concern is due to the product being identified as a medical device, but you are stating it is just a battery that is compatible with hearing aids. I know the continued issues with the listing can be increasingly frustrating when the product is not what the violation is stating.

I have reviewed the case and did see where the was minimal information being offered to you regarding the situation, so I have gone ahead and compiled the available details to be transferred to another team. At this time, I do not have any updates that could be used to provide guidance to you. However, I will still monitor for any new information that becomes available.

If you observe any changes or receive any new messaging, please refer back to this thread so that I may continue to offer guidance to you.

Best,

Atlas
