Is using Chit Chats for $30+ items a viable option?

A fairly new branch (Oakville) has opened up 5 minutes away from me; and I might just start using them. (I know they don't do signatures and other limitations). And I'm talking post-CP strike.

Regarding confirming shipment - I've read of 2 different methods (in this forum) of providing tracking/carrier info:

1) Choose "Other" and write "Intelcom", or

2) Choose Canada Post as the carrier.

Can anyone (who uses Chit Chats or knows for sure,) confirm which would be the correct method for confirming shipments sold for >$30?

Much appreciated!

"Other" (no matter what you write) will fail for VTR purposes.

For Chit Chats Tracked and Slim services they use Canada Post, so you would select Canada Post.

I've been using Chit Chats for a decade or more. For in province shipments, they are almost half of Canada Post cost. As Dennis said in his reply, choose Canada Post.

If you ship to the USA, they are also good. You can use the USA media mail rate for books, with an upcharge to pay Chit Chats for taking it across the border. Still cheaper than Canada Post by about half.

If you have any non-Amazon sales, you can use Chit Chats Select, usually cheaper than Canada Post, but Amazon does not recognize the tracking. For my other sites shipments I don't even have to jack up the shipping charge during the strike like I did on Amazon, to cover Purolator cost.
