Being charged for markets I don't sell in.

I've been selling on Amazon for about three years. I sell only in the U.S. Formerly, the Canadian and Mexican markets were only options that I never activated. Now, the home page says I sell in 3 markets, though I do not.

This is not a matter of having my monthly payment split over the three. I am charged the $41.00 for Amazon.com and today was charged about $20.00 for Canada. Previous requests for payment from Mexico and Canada never went through on the credit card I use for Amazon sales, but Canada bypassed that card and went to another that is also associated with my account.

I have no listings in Canada or Mexico and both have remained inactive since I first joined Amazon. Any suggestions on how to make it clear that those two markets are not places I sell?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

When was the US charge processed? I have found the charges to be a bit inconsistent as to when they happen. For example, US may charge me $25 on the 12th, and the additional in Canadian funds on the 23rd. So in your case, the $41 could have been for last month on its own. Now for this month they might break it up. Just a thought.

There is no way to tell Amazon you only sell in the USA. It is a North America Unified Account, and includes all three, there is no opting out. Just make sure your listings are deleted from the non-active platforms and put them on Vacation. There will be no savings in the fee.

Double check your Canada and Mexico accounts; Amazon has probably decided to cross-list one or more of your offers without notification. Clear all those out, and you should see the billing resort to normal (at least, until they muck with your offers again)

Hello there @Seller_krp73rY9phx6g

You have already received some great guidance above from fellow community member - thank you both!

When you sign up for a selling plan you are automatically enrolled in the the North America Unified account which allows you ability to sell in US, Canada and Mexico.

This thread was posted a couple months ago that you may find valuable. Below are a few other optional resources to review:

  • Here is a 2 minute overview of the North America Unified Account should you want to review.
  • Additionally, this page has a lot of great resources including FAQ's on the account. Two of which are the below:

What if I don't want to sell on more than one store?

If you have been upgraded to a Unified Account and do not want to sell on another store, keep the store switcher on the country on which you originally registered. Your products will only list on that store.

What fees will I pay if I sell something using my Unified Account?

For all per-item transaction fees, you will pay the fees applicable to the store in which the item was sold. Your monthly Professional selling plan subscription fee will be allocated to each North American store in which you have active listings on your monthly billing day, and will be limited to USD 39.99 or its equivalent in total. For more information about Professional selling plan fees, go to Selling on Amazon Fee Schedule.

If you are seeing something you believe is off, please do share your Seller Support case number below, and I'd be happy to look into it further for you.
