When did you get your first sale?

Hi Amazon seller family,

Its been 3 days I have become an Amazon seller, listed my product and since then I have started the waiting game for "my first sale". I don't know what is the appropriate time it takes for making the first sale.

Could you guys share your experience so that I can know what am I doing wrong? or if its very normal. I am very proud of my product and would love for it to be shared with the world !

To be honest I can not remember but I think it was 2 weeks for my first FBM sale , once I switched to FBA it was about 3-4 days or so, I would get a random sale, when I did not have many products I remember sometimes it would go by a whole 5-6 days without a sale and I started to worry sometimes, cause some times It would be a sale or 2 a day. List a few other items, make sure its FBA, search related to your item see if it shows up, even if it does not does not mean you wont get a sale, you can check the views and see if the product is getting some views. Do not worry

First 2 months I sold 4 items.

Buyers are often reluctant to buy from a new seller -- they wait until the seller has some feedback. Less of an issue for FBA sellers, as the buyer will trust amazon for delivering/refunding and not worry that the seller is new.

Ive just started a few months ago and my first sale was about a week after opening the account for both FBM and FBA listing. But after a couple months of selling I have come to learn thats actually very fast for the process. Now I account for about a month from when I list and send in an FBA product to when I would expect a sale. It also depends on the popularity of the products. Some are faster some are slower. Hope that helps.

As others have rightfully said, it depends on what you sell.

So what do you sell?

If you share that then others who sell similar products will be able to give you a better idea.

(I sell books, launched about 18 years ago, and it took about 3 weeks to get my 1st sale. Yet there were big gaps in the first 3 months, especially)

For all my FBA new products, the first sale in between 24-48 hour. I like to kick start with little PPC to help rank up then go slow.
