Requesting a prep investigation

For shipments that use Send/replenish inventory, preparation guidance appears on the Prepare products tab. The specific attributes of your products determine what kind of product prep is required.

If you believe the prep requirements for one or more of your products are incorrect, you can request an investigation.

Note: Before you request an investigation, first review packaging and prep requirements to determine whether a request is warranted.

To request a prep investigation, do the following:

  1. Click Investigate in the Prep guidance column on Prepare products.
  2. Provide details about why you think the prep requirements are incorrect.
  3. Watch a brief video about FBA prep.

In Send to Amazon, do the following:

  1. Click the More options tab in the Prepare your FBA item window during shipment creation.
  2. Provide details about why you think the prep requirements are incorrect.
  3. Attach an image of the item that shows how it is packaged with a scannable item barcode visible.

After submitting your request, you’ll receive a response within four business days.

Note: After an investigation request has been submitted, another request cannot be made for 90 days. If you want to submit more information, you can add it to the case in your case log.
