Manage inventory

View inventory

Manage Inventory provides you with tools for searching, viewing, and updating your product and inventory listing information.

To view your inventory, go to the Inventory tab and select Manage Inventory.

To better help you distinguish your inventory at a glance, we display extra information in the Product Name field for some categories.

Set your preferences

To customize your page view, click Preferences at the top of the Manage Inventory page. You can personalize your page view in the following ways:

Active or All listings:

Choose whether to show active listings by default or all listings.

Edit button:

Show the edit button on the left or right side of the page.

Low Price Comparison:

See Match Low Price for more information about this feature.

Show # results per page:

Select the number of results you want to see on each page in Manage Inventory.

Show shipping charges in price columns:

Available only if you have selected Item/Weight-Based shipping model on the Shipping Settings page. Check this box if you want the lowest shipping charges to be displayed in the Your Price and Low Price columns. When checked, Match Low Price uses total price (item price + shipping) in the Low Price column for comparison. When unchecked, matching is based on item price only.

Initially sort by:

Select your default sort order from the drop-down menu.

Column display:

Select which columns to show or hide. Columns with (Recommended) specified are the defaults. The values you select here are used together with search filters to customize the listing table's column display.



Sort inventory

To sort your inventory, click any of the highlighted column headers.

To filter your inventory, select Listing Status drop-down menu in Manage Inventory:

All My Inventory:

All listings, regardless of status

Active:

All open listings

Inactive:

All listings that are either out of stock, set to "inactive," have a quantity of zero, closed due to a pending order, closed at your request, or blocked by Amazon



Create a listing

Use Add a Product to create a new listing by matching to a product detail page that already exists in the Amazon catalogue. You can also create a new detail page for a product that doesn't yet exist in the catalogue and then create a listing for that product. For more information, see Add a Product.

After you create a listing, use Manage Inventory to make changes to listing or product data.

Note: The product information you provide in your listing may differ from what you see on the Amazon product detail page. For listings with more than one seller, the information on the product detail page may reflect contributions from multiple sellers.

Copy a listing

The Copy Listing feature allows you to create a new product detail page using information from an existing listing.

For example, you have 3 different versions of the same toy. Each version has a different product identifier (UPC, EAN or JAN), but otherwise shares the manufacturer, brand, general description, and audience (as shown in the table below). This function allows you to create a detail page for one of the products versions, then use the Copy Listing feature to quickly create pages for the other two versions.

To copy a listing:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, locate the product that you want to copy.
  2. For the product you want to copy, select Copy Listing from the drop-down menu. The template will be populated with the product attributes from the original listing except for its SKU and product identifier.
  3. Enter the unique SKU, product identifier, and any other attributes specific to the listing you are creating.
  4. Select the Apply EAN or UPC Exemption check box.
  5. Click Save and finish.


Edit a listing

In most cases, changes you make to product information appear on Amazon within 5 minutes. However, some updates can take up to 6 hours. Product descriptions longer than 500 characters are generally updated at 8:00 AM PST the following day. Images may take up to 24 hours to appear on a product detail page. To edit details for an existing listing:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, select Active from the Listing Status drop-down menu.
  2. Find the listing you want to edit, and select Edit from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the links at the top of the page to add, edit, or change the listing's content.
  4. Click Save and finish.


To edit price and quantity information:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, select Active from the Listing Status drop-down menu.
  2. Find the listing you want to edit.
  3. In the Price and Quantity columns, type your updates in the text boxes.
  4. Click Save.


Manage pricing

The Manage Pricing view allows you to update prices on any active listings, either one by one or in batches. It includes columns most commonly used for making price updates, but you can change the columns you want to see by clicking Preferences.

To update the price of a product:

  1. Locate the product you want to update on the Manage Pricing page.
  2. Click Match Low Price on the far right. The item price in the Low Price + Shipping column will automatically update so that it matches the low price.
  3. Click Save to save your new price.


If you have listings that are deactivated because of potential pricing errors, then you can confirm and update your prices by clicking Price Alerts and entering maximum and minimum bounds for each deactivated listing.

Set minimum and maximum price limits

You can add minimum and maximum price columns to your Manage Pricing or Manage Inventory view. To set the limits follow the below steps:

  1. Click Preferences, located at the upper right corner of the page.
  2. Check the options Your Minimum Price and/or Your Maximum Price and click Save Changes.


These columns will now appear in the Manage Pricing view and you can enter values in any cell and click Save.

Set your price

The following column in Manage Inventory applies to pricing:

Price:

The product price. "Shipping" is the lowest shipping charge available for a product, based on your shipping settings.

  • When you sort by this column, the shipping charge is not taken into account.
  • The shipping charge is displayed in Price for active listings only.


Add images

You can provide one main image and one or more secondary images for each listing. To learn about using product images in your listings, see Preparing Product Images.

To upload product images:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, find the listing for which you want to add an image.
  2. For the product you want to edit, select Manage Images from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Add Images.
  4. In an image slot, click the Browse File button. You can select an empty slot or replace an existing image.
  5. Select an image to upload, and click Open. The image file name will appear in the lower left corner of the image slot.
  6. Click Upload image(s) to upload your selected images.


You can repeat steps 4 and 5 as many times as there are image slots before clicking Upload image(s) (step 6). Images may take up to 24 hours to appear on a product detail page.

Close a listing

You may close a listing at any time, up until the time it is purchased. This action does not remove the record from your inventory. The SKU and all listing information for the item are retained. Additionally, a listing can be re-listed (or reactivated) at any time. There is no fee associated with closing a listing.

To close a listing:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, select Active from the Listing Status drop-down menu.
  2. Find the listing you want to close, and select Close listing from the drop-down menu.


Your listing should appear as Inactive within 24 hours.

Note: This will automatically close your listing, without confirmation.

To re-list a closed listing:

  1. On the Manage Inventory page, select Inactive from the Listing Status drop-down menu.
  2. Find the listing you want to re-list, and select Relist from the drop-down menu.


Delete a product

When you delete a listing, the SKU and all sales history and product information are permanently removed from your seller account. Therefore, you should delete a SKU and its listing information only if you are never going to sell that product in the future.

Note: After you delete a SKU from your inventory, it may take up to 24 hours before that SKU is available for reuse.

To delete listings:

  1. In Manage Inventory, find the listing you want to delete:
    1. For single listings, select Delete Product and Listing from the drop-down menu for the product you want to delete.
    2. For multiple listings, check the box to the left of the listings you want to delete, and select Delete Product and Listing from the Action on selected drop-down menu.
  2. Click OK to delete or Cancel to not delete the listing.


Listings may be blocked by Amazon for a number of reasons, including for prohibited, restricted, or recalled products.

A blocked listing has one of the following indicators in the far left column:

  • Red icon: This product may not be relisted.
  • Yellow icon: Product may be relisted.


Click the link next to the icon to learn about and correct any problems with the listing.
