Other Restricted Products

Important: If you supply products for sale on Amazon, you must comply with all federal, provincial, and local laws and Amazon policies applicable to those products and product listings.

Examples of prohibited listings

  • Products listed on Schedule 2 of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, such as:
    • Baby walkers mounted on wheels
    • Devices that position feeding bottles to allow babies to feed themselves unattended
    • Polycarbonate bottles that contain bisphenol A
    • Products for babies, including teethers, pacifiers and baby bottle nipples, that are put in the mouth when used and that contain a filling that has in it a viable micro-organism
  • Confederate flag merchandise
  • Stocks and other securities
  • Lottery tickets (including grab bags and raffles)
  • Illegal or prescription drugs or devices
  • Real estate and real property
  • Wine and other alcoholic beverages
  • Products where the serial number has been removed or altered
  • Listings that redirect any customers from the Amazon.ca site into any other sales channel with the exception of advertisements that are part of the Amazon Product Ads
  • Government documents, identification, birth certificates, passports, and licences
  • Coupons
  • Domain names
  • Event tickets, such as concert tickets and sporting events tickets
  • Products intended to be used to produce an illegal product or undertake an illegal activity
  • Cash or cash equivalent instruments (unless explicitly authorized in advance by Amazon), such as:
    • Money orders
    • Traveler's checks
    • Stored value products (for example, retail or open loop gift cards or electronic stored value redemption codes
  • Teacher's editions of textbooks in any format, such as:
    • Hardcopy or softcover books
    • eBook, CD-R, DVD or other electronic versions of teacher's editions
    • Solutions manuals intended to be used by teachers (textbooks and solutions manuals for students are permitted)
  • Used clothing and shoes
  • Products that include large quantities of magnetic balls or cubes, such as:
    • Buckyballs
    • Buckycubes
    • Dynocube
    • Magnet Balls
    • Magnicube
    • Neocubes
    • Neocubix
    • Nanodots
  • "Mystery boxes," "Surprise boxes," or similarly named products containing items that are not clearly described on the product detail page
  • Products that do not meet the safety standards pursuant to the Ice Hockey Helmet Regulations
  • Products that do not meet the safety standards pursuant to Face Protectors for Ice Hockey and Box Lacrosse Players Regulations published by the Canadian Standards Association
  • "Washington Redskins" merchandise
