Adult products policies & guidelines

Guidelines

Amazon.ca considers an adult sexual health product to be any product which, because of the nature of the product, its image, product title, or product description, appears to be designed for use in sexual/adult activity. Products in this category include products such as vibrators, sexual enhancement supplements, and adult-oriented toys and games.

Important: We are changing the policy for how wand massagers and kegel/ben wa balls are classified. Today these products are classified as adult products only if certain criteria are met, such as the product detail pages identify this product for sexual uses. However, starting January 17, 2022, these two categories will be automatically classified as adult products irrespective of the details provided on the product detail pages.

At this time, only pre-approved sellers may list adult products, other than condoms and lubricants, on the Amazon.ca website.

Note: Amazon.ca reserves the right to remove any listing deemed inappropriate. Sellers who incorrectly categorize adult sexual health products or post inappropriate products or content can be suspended, either temporarily or permanently. In addition, Amazon.ca reserves the right to merchandise these products across the website in the manner it deems appropriate.

  2. Images
    • Must display only the actual product or product packaging. No human models allowed.
    • Cannot contain nudity, even if it appears on the product packaging. (If the packaging contains nudity, you must either show a picture of the actual product without the packaging or simply not include an image for the product.)
  3. Titles/Descriptions/Bullet Points
    • Cannot contain profanity or graphic adult language, even if part of the product's title.
    • Should be "clinical" in tone and refrain from slang or euphemisms for body parts.
