Amazon's Automotive & Powersports store includes the following product types:

Amazon limits the types of automotive and powersports parts and accessories sellers can list to ensure that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon.ca. The requirements for selling in the Automotive Parts & Accessories category reflect buyer concern for product quality, product branding, and consumer safety. Adherence to import and export restrictions is also important to ensure that buyers can purchase authentic, high-quality Automotive Parts & Accessories products.

Sellers must meet the requirements listed below to sell products in the Automotive Parts & Accessories category. Please read this list of requirements and consult our help pages if you have questions about specific policies.

General requirements

  • Automotive Parts & Accessories products must be listed using the manufacturer's UPC code. Learn more about UPC requirements by category here and how to list products that do not have a GTIN (UPC, EAN, JAN, ISBN) here.
  • Sellers must conduct proper research to ensure that their listings of Automotive products comply with applicable local, provincial, federal, and international laws and regulations.
  • Sellers cannot list products that are not permitted to be sold on Amazon. See here for information about prohibited automotive listings. Additional information about restricted products can be found here.
  • You must have reviewed the Automotive & Powersports Part Finder page and Fitment Data page in its entirety if you plan on selling fitment-specific products (products that only fit certain vehicles). These pages provide important information about the Amazon Automotive Part Finder tool and the fitment data that it utilizes to allow customers to check if products fit their vehicle. You can refer to the Providing and adding fitment data page to know how to submit direct and indirect methods of fitment data to Amazon, and how uploading specific product attributes (Partslink numbers and OEM part numbers) can add fitment data to your products. Finally, refer to Managing fitment data page for instructions on the actions you can take if you discover incorrect or missing fitment data.

Product quality

  • All Refurbished Automotive Parts & Accessories products must be warranted by the manufacturer or remanufacturer. Sellers must disclose the warranty type for each Refurbished product they list, indicating whether it is a manufacturer's warranty or their own warranty.
  • All products must meet North America product safety standards and should not be recalled by any importer or manufacturer of a product or any government agency. (For more information, see the Recalled Products help page.)

Product listings

  • All listing data and images must be suitable for all ages and appropriate for our global community. Listing data and images cannot depict or contain nudity or pornographic, obscene, or offensive items.
  • Sellers must follow Amazon listing standards for any product sold on Amazon.ca.
    • Sellers must have reviewed Seller Central listing guidelines and agree to appropriately and accurately classify their products.
    • Sellers must submit product titles, bullets, and product descriptions that are clearly written and assist the customer in understanding the product.
  • All product listing data must meet Automotive Parts-specific standards.
    • You can refer to the Providing and adding fitment data page to know how to submit direct and indirect methods of fitment data to Amazon.
    • Listing inappropriate fitment data in Part Finder, including adding fitment to universal products that do not require fitment, may result in loss of your selling privileges.
  • All product images must meet Amazon site-wide image standards.
    • Sellers must certify that they have reviewed the image guidelines published on Seller Central and that all images they upload will conform to the guidelines.
    • Images must have white backgrounds and cannot contain inset images, watermarks, or unauthorized content.
    • Sellers are responsible for the quality of all images they upload, even if the seller has obtained the images from an outside source.
  • All products must be sold as listed. Customers must be able to complete all aspects of ordering and purchasing a product using only the Amazon website. We do not allow custom listings that would require buyers to communicate with sellers before or after the purchase in order to receive the product they want.
